Human papilloma virus (HPV) and cervical cancer |

HPV can also cause Cervical Cancer. Regular smear tests for women can determine whether changes in the cervix have occurred as a result of HPV infection as well as checking for changes which may be an early indication of cervical Cancer. Specialist testing can detect HPV in men and women and differentiate between low and high risk types. Gardasil and Cervarix HPV vaccines are available.
